Strawberry Spinach Salad

1 pound asparagus

8 c. spinach, torn

1/3 c. bottled salad dressing, such as poppy seed or Italian

2 c. sliced fresh strawberries and whole blueberries

to 1 pound cooked turkey, cut into inch cubes

1 tsp. finely shredded orange peel

c. pecan halves, toasted

1 T. orange juice

 

Cut cleaned asparagus into one inch pieces.  Cook, covered in small amount of boiling, salted water 3-5 minutes.  Drain. Rinse with cold water and let stand in cold water until cool.  Drain.  Mix together bottled dressing with orange peel and orange juice.  Set aside.  In a salad bowl, combine spinach, asparagus, berries, turkey.  Serve topped with pecans.
