Fresh Mango Salsa


2 ripe mangoes

2 teaspoons chili sauce

small red onion, diced

juice of 1 fresh lime

2 cloves garlic, chopped

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger

teaspoon ground cumin

2 tsp. chopped fresh basil, or 1 tsp. dried


cup fresh cilantro

freshly ground black pepper, to taste



In a medium non-reactive bowl, mix together the mangoes, onion, garlic, ginger, basil, chili sauce, and lime juice.  Add the vegetable oil, cumin, salt, and pepper.  Toss gently.
